Special Education Teacher – 2nd/3rd Grade Autism Classroom Goodyear, AZ

Pay Rate: $50/hour

Hours: 40 per week

Duration: ASAP – End of School Year

Position Description

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides quality services to special education students. This role requires a strong commitment to collaborative planning and implementation of individualized programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation with other staff.

Responsibilities

+ Deliver specialized instruction to students in a 2nd/3rd grade autism classroom.

+ Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

+ Collaborate with other team members and support staff.

+ Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Minimum Requirements

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).

+ Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations.

+ Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred).

+ State Teacher Certification:

+ Standard Elementary Teaching (preferred)

+ Standard Secondary Teaching (preferred)

+ Standard Special Teaching (preferred)

+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.

+ Current CPR certification (if applicable).

+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable).

+ Current health certificate (per state regulation).

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.

+ Must be at least 18 years of age.

General Comments

+ Modality: In-person

+ Caseload: 2nd/3rd grade classroom, all autism and low-functioning students.
