    + **Location** : Newtown Square, PA | Herndon, VA (Hybrid)

    + **Work Schedule** : 9 AM - 5 PM EST | 40 hrs/wk

    Position Overview

    Oversight and leadership of a team responsible for code improvements and innovations in Financial Applications within 'Code Ownership' for SAP ERP and S/4HANA Financials as part of SAP NS2 Development Support and a global team. This role involves maintaining the code line primarily in Public Sector Management, with potential extensions to other application areas, such as integration with SAP Application Innovation Services (AIS) for security and compliance auditing.

     

    The manager is expected to remain technically proficient, actively participating in hands-on development tasks alongside the team while guiding strategic direction and team performance.

    Responsibilities include:

    + Leadership and mentorship of a team of developers, including performance evaluations, resource allocation, and professional development planning.

    + Analysis of complex software issues at a Development Support level, with direct involvement in resolution.

    + Provision and testing of coding corrections, ensuring high standards across the team.

    + Facilitation of continuous improvements in collaboration with global SAP user groups.

    + Design and implementation of 'Legal Change Requests' in software, alongside quality improvements, performance optimization, and oversight of team contributions.

    + Management of the takeover and integration of new products and features, including their corresponding code lines, into the SAP maintenance organization.

    + Development and enhancement of SAP AIS components, such as audit reporting, security analysis, and integration with financial modules, with active technical participation.

    + Implementation and oversight of DevOps practices, including automation of CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment and testing.

    Responsibility for the development and delivery of additional support services to internal and external customers, including:

    + Direct support of customers with specific consulting needs, such as 'Expert on Demand', delivery of support services, removal of code modifications, and special enhancements of standard functionality.

    + Planning and execution of Know-How-Transfer Sessions to the SAP Product Support Organization, with team involvement.

    + Strategic planning for team deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.

    WORK EXPERIENCE

    Required:

    + Proven leadership experience managing technical teams in software development, preferably in Finance or Supply Chain domains.

    + Real-world business experience in Finance or Supply Chain.

    + Extensive experience with SAP products and technology.

    + Advanced functional knowledge of Purchasing, Sales and Financial Accounting, Funds Management.

    + Expertise in ABAP development and debugging.

    + Proficiency in SAP Gateway and OData services.

    + Strong knowledge of CDS, BOPF, UI5, Fiori.

    + Hands-on experience with SAP Application Innovation Services (AIS), including developing apps with SAP Fiori Elements, annotations, and ABAP programming models for Fiori.

    + Familiarity with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) development, including RAP, Build, Process Automation, and Integration Suite.

    + In-depth knowledge of DevOps principles and tools, such as Git, Jenkins, or SAP Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

    + Experience with cloud platforms like SAP BTP, AWS, or Azure, including containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code.

    + Understanding of regional compliance and development standards, such as those applicable in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) for SAP implementations, including data privacy (GDPR) and localization requirements.

    EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    + U.S. Citizenship required.

    + Excellent presentation, communication, and conflict management skills.

    + Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability as a team leader.

    + Ability to work and learn independently while fostering a collaborative team environment.

    + Bachelor’s degree required or 10 years of experience. Master’s degree in a related field preferred.

    **Compensation Range Transparency** : SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 164700 - 374200 (USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
