Stepdown Qualified RN - Observation Unit

This position will accept local candidates. $10 local rate deduction will apply.

Dysrhythmia Exam Required (Study Guide Available)

Neuro exp preferred

Must have BLS, ACLS and NIHSS

12 HR Nights

Every 3rd weekend, every other holiday

36 or 48 GTE

Unit Specific Details

10-bed Observation Unit

This position is ideal for a nurse with experience in dysrhythmia management and neuro care.

Focused on monitoring and assessing patients with various conditions, including those requiring neuro and cardiac observation.

Conduct neuro assessments, including NIHSS, for patients with neurological concerns

Administer medications and treatments as ordered and monitor for side effects.

Work closely with physicians and the healthcare team to assess patient conditions and determine the need for further care or discharge.

Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatment plans, and next steps.

Document patient progress and interventions accurately.

Strong critical thinking, communication, and assessment skills

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Nurse ratio 6:1 with 1 tech

Once hit 7 patients it goes to 2 nurses no tech. *

*All listed ratios are subject to change based on staffing availability at the facility. Ratios are never guaranteed but are what the unit typically attempts to achieve with normalized staffing.

Currently Staffing - BSMH - AVPA & HAA agreement

Assignment Details:

- VMS - Simplify

- Acute RNs

- 36 hour contracts, 12 hour shifts, 7-7

Orientation Information

Orientation takes place on a bi-weekly basis every other Monday at 8am. Staff will begin at the offsite testing location where they will complete general onboarding and receive access to their login/timekeeping profiles

Candidate Must Be EPIC Proficient
