About this Job

We are looking for a Corrections Guard Master Therapeutic to join our security team - a proactive, people-oriented, goal-minded and focused team that drives our mission forward. The Corrections Guard Master Therapeutic plays a key role in the smooth operation of the security department. This position works closely with residents andemployees. Assisting each with different tasks on a daily basis.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of experience in a forensic, behavioral, correctional, or penal institution with responsibility for the security, custody, clinical care or rehabilitation of offenders.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

As a Corrections Guard Master Therapeutic you will be responsible for:

+ Serving as lead worker on the day shift and Assistant Supervisor to the Corrections Guard Lieutenant on day shift

+ Providing direction and guidance for Correction Guard Therapeutic's on shift in absence of the Lieutenant

+ Maintaining attendance and leave records for Correction Guard Therapeutic's on the night shift for auditing purposes

+ Participating in meetings as required by Administration

+ Working the front gate when short on staff to maintain coverage

+ Maintaining VFMC Keys; issue and/or receive departmental keys, newspapers, Security log and other information to/from appropriate personnel

+ Inspecting vehicles for proper mechanical condition/cleanliness and maintaining record of mileage, fuel, oil and other expenses on a daily basis

+ Performing security checks of facility grounds, all buildings and parking lots periodically

+ Assuring gates and doors are locked according to policy

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational

Work Schedule: 12-hour Days

Compensation: This position is eligible for premium pay of $4.00 per hour
