Physical Activity Level:Some work is performed in physically comfortable positions with little or light physical effort, and some work requires moderate effort. Lifting thirty to forty pounds may be required and brief periods of heavy muscular exertion may be required. Interpreting/ and transliterating require extended use of the upper body muscles and fine motor movements of the hands. Minimum Qualifications
+ Master’s Degree or higher in Educational Leadership or Curriculum and Instruction
+ Certification as Principal, Parish/City Supervisor of Instruction or Educational Leadership; possess EDL 2 or 3 certification
+ Five years of experience in educational administration and/or experience in in-service training and professional development activities
+ Demonstrated skill in instruction and program development
+ Experience in evaluating principals and teachers using LDE evaluation tools
+ Demonstrated skill in research, presentations, database design and maintenance and long-range planning
+ Ability to drive a car and/or ride in a vehicle for extended periods is extensively required
+ Statewide travel is an essential component of this position with possible concentration in a geographical or programmatic area.
+ Some work over time, may frequently require moderate effort, and some will require brief periods in which heavy muscular exertion and strenuous physical exertion in climbing, lifting objects over 50 pounds, or crouching or crawling in restricted areas is required
+ Ability to work extensive overtime may be required
Job Specification
Must possess the skill set required to plan, develop, implement and manage education programs necessary to meet federal and state requirements and to implement a model of continuous improvement. Assigned areas may include, but are not limited to such areas as Curriculum and Instruction, Professional Development, Personnel, Leader and Teacher Evaluation, School Improvement, and Budget Planning.
