Medical Assistant - Palliative and Cancer Program

Under clinical supervision, assists in the delivery of patient care and treatment according to policies and procedures and Logan Health MAU/UAP scope of practice. Provides administrative support and works collaboratively with Physicians, Advanced Practice Clinicians, RNs, LPNs and other department staff to meet the physical, psychosocial, education and spiritual needs of the patient and family.

+ Prepare patients for visits by reviewing medical histories, obtaining vital signs, and ensuring comfort and privacy.

+ Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR system.
+ Assist with care coordination, follow-up scheduling, and patient and family education.
+ Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to provide seamless, compassionate support to patients and families.
What You Bring to the Table
Certification Required – Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential.
Relevant Experience – Previous experience in palliative care, hospice, oncology, primary care, or another specialty clinic preferred.
Clinical Skills – Proficiency with vital signs, injections, specimen processing, point-of-care testing, and EMR documentation.
Compassion & Professionalism – Ability to provide calm, empathetic support while maintaining professionalism and respect.
Team Collaboration – Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary care team.

Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)
Schedule:
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
