    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Turnaround & Construction Manager leads a team responsible for planning, scheduling, executing, and closeout of turnaround, shutdown, and construction activities for both Carson and Wilmington refineries. Reporting to the LAR Maintenance Department Director, this role manages a team including Turnaround Managers, Construction Managers, E&I Turnaround & Construction Manager, Project Controls Manager, Turnaround Engineer, and Logistics Coordinator.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Ensure all work is executed with the highest level of safety for employees and contractors throughout the planning and execution phases, consistently prioritizing safety in every aspect of operations.

    + Develop and maintain multi-year strategies for refinery turnarounds, major maintenance, and construction projects, ensuring the 10-year plan is regularly updated and optimized for both site operations and enterprise-wide alignment.

    + Lead the development of turnaround worklists by administering scoping best practices, engaging stakeholders to ensure all scope is identified, organizing and facilitating work scope review meetings, and validating that the work scope aligns with outage objectives.

    + Provide leadership and guidance to teams throughout all phases of planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution, promoting best practices, collaboration, and effective resource allocation.

    + Oversee field execution of all turnaround and construction phases, ensuring teams are aligned and working toward shared objectives.

    + Capture and share lessons learned from turnaround and construction activities, working with the team to identify and develop opportunities for future improvement.

    + Collaborate with Supply Chain to develop and implement contracting strategies that secure the most qualified and commercially competitive resources for turnaround and construction activities.

    + Monitor key performance indicators for turnaround and construction effectiveness, using these metrics to inform decision-making and enable real-time adjustments throughout planning and execution phases.

    + Lead the core turnaround team and provide regular updates to site leadership throughout the planning and execution phases.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + High School Diploma Required

    + 4+ years of experience as Routine Maintenance, Turnaround, Reliability, or Construction Manager

    + Minimum of 12 years of experience in Refining organization

    + Valid Drivers License is required

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Bachelors degree in Engineering or Construction Management

    + 4+ years of experience as Turnaround or Construction Manager
