    RESPONSIBILITIES

    I. JOB SUMMARY:

    • Performs a variety of maintenance, repair, installation, calibration and fabrication duties for highly complex, sophisticated, specialized equipment and systems related to the cyclotron and radiopharmaceutical production.

    II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    A. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Seeing. Hearing. Speaking. Finger dexterity.

    B. MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING:

    • Infrequent: Lift waist to overhead between 6-10 lbs.

    • Occasional: Lift floor to waist between 6-10 lbs. Lift waist to shoulder between 36-50 lbs. Carry between 36-50 lbs. Push and Pull between 36-50 lbs.

    • Frequent: N/A

    • Constant: N/A

    C. NON-MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING:

    • Infrequent: Crawl. Climb: Stairs/Ladder.

    • Occasional: Sit. Stoop/Bend. Kneel. Twist. Squat.

    • Frequent: Stand. Walk. Reach: shoulder level. Reach: above head. Gripping.

    • Constant: N/A

    III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Exposure to chemicals, hazardous materials, and ionizing radiation.

    IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    A. EDUCATION:

    • Associate's degree in Biomedical or Electronics Technology or related field; or completion of the Department of Defense Biomedical Equipment Technician training program; or two (2) years training as a biomedical or electronic technician, or equivalent, may be substituted for educational or training program requirement.

    B. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

    • No certification and/or licensure requirement.

    C. EXPERIENCE:

    • In addition to the educational requirement, three (3) years work experience as a Biomedical Technician or equivalent, preferably in a comparable organization.

    • Experience as a lead person or practice in an area of specialized equipment.

    • Experience to demonstrate the following:

    o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and departments.

    o Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

    • Knowledge of Radiation Safety, ALARA concepts and handling of radioactive materials preferred.
