    Job Description

    IG is looking for a linux engineer to join one of our clients in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. In this role, the Linux Engineer provides subject matter expertise on the capabilities of Joint Live Virtual Constructive (JLVC) federate simulations and tools within the JLVC catalog to support specified training objectives. The position requires flexibility, as responsibilities may shift in response to business, customer, or contractual needs. Key duties include delivering expert guidance on JLVC tools, training BSC staff and end users on installation, initialization, user roles, and event participation, and conducting ongoing professional development to remain current on emerging JLVC capabilities and development roadmaps. The JLVC Capability Manager is also responsible for initializing and employing JLVC federate simulations, managing local simulation artifacts—such as parametric databases, enumeration tables, 3D models, and terrain—and ensuring alignment with Marine Corps Training and Education Command (TECOM) standards while accommodating unique local training requirements. Additional responsibilities include supporting the refinement of enterprise documentation related to JLVC capabilities and best practices, as well as assisting the Federation Manager in federating JLVC simulations and tools to meet training objectives.

     

    Compensation: $50/hr- $53/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start day 1 of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

    Skills and Requirements

    • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field or 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field or 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

    • A current CompTIA Security + certification.

    • Must be familiar with Linux (command line) and Windows operating systems.

    • Must have technical leadership ability.

    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable communicating at various levels of the organization. This may involve lower level technical collaboration on issues with assigned engineers or high level explanation of issues and/or status updates with senior leadership

    • Must be familiar with MS Office

    • Active secret clearance • Knowledge of distributed simulation protocols such as High Level Architecture (HLA) and Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS).

    • Familiarity with networking concepts, architectures, and protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP.

    • Experience with MS Visio software to produce technical architecture drawings.

    • Knowledge of Navy and Marine C4I tactical systems such as Link 16 and GCCS.

    • Bachelors in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
