Job Description
The Machinist Level II is an intermediate-level role responsible for performing hand and machine operations to cut, form, fit, assemble, and install metals, plastics, and composites used in the manufacturing, repair, and modification of training systems. This position involves planning work sequences, interpreting engineering drawings, and executing complex machining operations with high precision. Duties include setting up and operating CNC and manual machine tools, performing repairs, and ensuring compliance with specifications and tolerances.
Pay Rate: $21-$27.94

Skills and Requirements
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, repair manuals, and technical data.
• Proficiency in planning work sequences, determining repair methods, and selecting appropriate tools and materials.
• Skilled in operating CNC machines and manual machine tools (e.g., jig borer, grinding machine, engine lathe, vertical milling center).
• Competence in programming machining operations, editing EIA programs, and adjusting wear offsets.
• Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments and ability to achieve tolerances of ±0.005.
• Application of shop mathematics for machining angular surfaces, circular interpolations, and datum point locations.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Machinist I.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to safely handle government-furnished equipment and materials.
• Availability to work a standard weekly schedule with overtime as required. • Background in commercial or military aircraft manufacturing, repair, or installation.
• Experience mentoring and training junior machinists.
• Knowledge of structural loads and stresses (compression, tensile, shear) and ability to identify overstressed conditions.
• Familiarity with selecting coolants, lubricants, and cutting fluids for various machining operations.
• Ability to inspect and correct work performed by other machinists.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for site inspections, training device delivery, or repairs.
