Summary Joining the Secret Service, Office of the Chief Information Officer, IT & Communications Infrastructure Branch will allow you to develop, implement, and sustain information technology to support the agency's protective and investigative mission. Responsibilities The selectee will serve as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (NET/ARC) in the Office of the Chief Information Officer, Network Operations Security Center, IT & Communications Infrastructure Branch. Typical work assignments include: Monitor network architecture & infrastructure hardware & software/services. Diagnose connectivity issues using tools & technologies available through the Network Operation Security Center (NOSC). Develop and maintain system technologies that aid in troubleshooting and root cause analysis, to further assist supporting protective missions. Address problems, troubleshooting and provide technical support to end users needing assistance using supported software, services, hardware, and other approved components Prepare subject matter reports and technical presentations of issues and resolution of failures and provide specialized support/training to end-users to solve those issues Apply for this exciting opportunity to impact the ability of the Secret Service to implement and monitor network security, govern information technology, and oversee the Agency's enterprise architecture. This IT Cybersecurity Specialist (NET/ARC) position starts at a salary of $121,785.00, GS-13, step 1, with potential to $158,322.00 GS-13 step 10. This position requires the employee to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. Qualifications To be considered qualified for this position you must meet the following qualification requirements for the respective grade level in which you are applying. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Possess information technology related experience demonstrating each of the four required competencies A. Attention to Detail: Ensuring IT programs are in compliance with cybersecurity policies and/or standards B. Customer Service: Interpreting IT security guidelines or policies to meet customer needs C. Oral Communication: Communicating organizational security policies and procedures to stakeholders D. Problem Solving: Providing solutions to cybersecurity issues to meet short and long-term goals. IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS ABOVE, YOU MUST ALSO MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $121,785.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level performing duties such as: Applying network security architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and principles. Analyzing cyber threats, vulnerabilities and utilizing skills in securing network communications. Applying intrusion detection methodologies and techniques for detecting host and network-based intrusions. The qualification requirements listed above must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
