    Job Description:

    Responsible for overseeing the preparation of accurate and timely operating budgets, capital budgets, and financial reporting. This position transforms data into information to provide insight to multiple teams for controlling costs, managing change, improving performance, and creating organizational value. Tasks includes daily, weekly, and monthly expense monitoring, proforma development and tracking, capital planning and execution, supply and new-service expenditures, and other reports. This role develops and implements accountability processes to ensure management of expenses and capital, and communicates complex topics clearly and concisely to individuals without formal financial training.

     

    + Assists leadership in overall financial management of the hospital.

    + Manages staff performance and department responsibilities in accordance with hospital and department policies and procedures.

    + Ensures monthly closing entries, statistics, and capital information are prepared timely and accurately. Manages the budgeting process.

    + Coordinates all audits, including internal, external, and regulatory audits.

    + Acts as department spokesperson on all fiscal matters and maintains contact with auditors, insurance, and Medicare officials.

    + Communicates updated or new guidelines and regulations to appropriate personnel.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    + Understanding of revenue, expense, budgeting, capital and cost management processes [Required]

    + Strong organization skills [Required]

    + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills [Required]

    + Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff [Required]

    + Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint [Required]

    + Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals [Required]

    + Skill set to compile and analyze financial information for financial decision making, organize and present the analysis and recommendations to management in a written or oral format. [Required]

    Education:

    + Bachelor's in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting [Required]

    + Master's [Preferred]

    Work Experience:

    + 3+ of applicable healthcare financial management experience, including operational involvement and/or project management [Preferred]

    + 5+ hospital accounting experience [Required]

    Licenses and Certifications:

    + Certified Public Accountant (CPA) [Preferred]

    Pay Range:

    $110,702.15 - $205,911.28
