Job Summary
The Administrative Manager reports to the Administrative Director of Ophthalmology and Surgical Services. This role partners with the medical director and nursing supervisor for overall performance and management of the Kellogg Eye Center ACU. This includes locations on Wall Street, Grand Blanc, Canton, Ypsilanti,Taubman as well as support of the Brighton, Northville, West Ann Arbor and Chelsea ophthalmology service line.

Responsibilities*
The Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Kellogg Eye Center is a large complex ambulatory clinic. The Kellogg Eye Center sees over 230,000 patient visits per year. The Administrative Manager is responsible for of the overall performance and management of the ACU. Primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the safe delivery of the highest quality care and service excellence to patients and their families.
Duties include but are not limited to:
+ Oversite of day to day operations of the ACU.
+ Ensures compliance with CMS, TJC, CLIA and other regulatory agencies.
+ Handles hiring, disciple and firing of clinical staff.
+ The implementation of clinical care model and standards of care at ACU level.
+ Provider and staff deployment and allocation. Operational and financial performance of ACU.
+ Review visit productivity data to ensure efficiency and identify potential revisions.
+ Oversee and regularly analyze clinical workflow optimization including scheduling, ophthalmic technician workflow, ensuring high quality of patient care.
Required Qualifications*
+ Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience
+ 3 - 5 years of progressively responsible operational leadership experience in a healthcare setting
+ Demonstrated skill in change management
+ Extensive Michigan Medicine Healthcare Administration experience including a thorough understanding of the institutional strategic plan and primary care service line engagement in the plan
+ Ambulatory operations experience
+ Demonstrated ability to envision and develop clinic operation management tools in support of primary care leadership and ACU leadership needs.
+ Knowledge of and experience implementing strategic principles and operational initiatives
+ Demonstrated effective written and oral communication, problem solving skills and customer service approach
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a collaborative group with a commitment to building teams and working relationships across all levels of the organization; faculty and staff
+ Demonstrated competence in leadership and management
+ Demonstrated ability to evaluate and make changes to process, toward continuous quality improvement
+ Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
+ Ability to lead large group meetings in a professional and productive manner
+ Proven ability to envision, create and roll out meaningful operational reporting dashboards and tools
Desired Qualifications*
+ Master's degree in Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
+ Previous supervisory experience
+ Demonstrated ability/experience to engage population health strategies in primary care outpatient operations
+ Experience with Lean, Michigan Quality Systems
+ Familiarity with Michigan Medicine and departmental policies and procedures, and bargained for workforce
+ Familiarity with University of Michigan Medical Group and Ambulatory Care Services operating principles and standards
