Corewell Health is seeking a Manager Strategy and Operations to the Chief Clinical Officer. This critical and complex role will partner with and participate proactively in developing and executing long-range strategies and comprehensive operational plans to support Corewell Health's senior leadership team. Under minimal supervision, is responsible for the assessment, analysis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of complex programs and/or projects. Acts as a change agent to create and drive a positive change process.This role proactively supports the executive workload by managing and working collaboratively with team members throughout the department, across the organization and externally to furnish the executive with needed information, analysis and materials to ensure they are able to make the most efficient use of their time and achieve sharp gains in culture, productivity, effectiveness, and impact.Additionally, the Strategy and Operations Manager is accountable for the development and leadership of the administrative partners supporting department leaders. Acts as a role model and resource for all staff. Advances enterprise clinical strategy and orchestrates cross‑functional execution for systemwide initiatives. The role requires the ability to support and engage with clinical operations and care delivery teams, translating complex clinical priorities into clear, actionable plans. Success demands agility in navigating clinical programs, proactive problem‑solving, and disciplined follow‑through to move work at pace.
Essential Functions
+ Works autonomously to prepare complex information such as documents, reports, charts, and graphs using a variety of software. Performs independent research and prepares information and analytical analysis for special projects, board level presentations, executive-level communications, etc. Liaises with key stakeholders to achieve organizational goals. Independently maintains accountability for completion of assigned projects.
+ Anticipates problems, generates innovative solutions and is especially sensitive to issues that require diplomacy. Interfaces seamlessly with any level of the organization and collaborates with individuals from a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds, communicating effectively using whatever medium is required. Further, utilizes the appropriate software applications to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the executive’s and their leadership team’s workloads.
+ Develops and coordinates the assessment, analysis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of complex/multi-faceted projects/ programs. Independently adjusts scope of work plan in order to achieve desired outcomes and leads re-engineering efforts.
+ Working closely and continuously with system, department, and/or region leadership, partners in the development of annual goals aligned to strategic goals, and the tactics/initiatives required to meet them. Works with responsible leaders to assure alignment of department and/or regional strategies with overall system strategies and goals.
+ Communicates, collaborates, networks with and acts as a consultant to key stakeholders in order to ensure continuity and coordination of services and appropriate utilization of resources.
+ Works with the executive and financial analyst to maintain department budget at appropriate level. Ensures team compliance with internal policies related to budget/expense.
+ Serves the organization by flexing between strategy and execution in a highly organized, adaptable, and influential manner.
+ Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and functions as an ambassador of Corewell Health, modeling and sharing our core values with health consumers, partners and team members.
+ Provides front line leadership and direction to the members of the department’s administrative team to ensure performance standards are being met and the needs of the leaders supported are met. Provides continuous feedback to team members regarding individual and overall departmental performance. Engaged in the attraction and selection process for open administrative partner roles within areas of responsibility and develops standard work around required skills for the team.
+ Fosters a culture of greater partnership across the department’s administrative team thus increasing overall operational effectiveness. Authentically lead the administrative team to create an environment of excitement and positive motivation that leads to an emotional connection with the team, not just the task.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Required
+ 5 years of relevant experience in the capacity of partnering with senior-level executives. Required
+ 5 years of relevant experience Project management, strategic planning, reporting out on metrics and outcomes, developing communications for senior executive audiences. Required
