The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Java Full Stack Software Engineer to lead advanced software development projects and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams. This role requires a subject matter expert with strong technical abilities, capable of designing system-level solutions, evaluating technologies, and guiding the development of innovative products.
• Technical Leadership:
o Design, conduct, and lead advanced software projects from concept to completion.
o Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.
o Serve as a subject matter expert in Java full stack development and related technologies.
o Leads root cause investigations on high-complexity or high-severity issues.
• System-Level Design:
o Perform system-level architecture and design for point-of-care instruments.
o Ensure alignment with product definitions and functional requirements.
• Technology Evaluation:
o Evaluate and select major subsystems, frameworks, and components for instrument and software products.
o Recommend multiple solutions to complex technical challenges.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
o Communicate effectively with cross-functional management to coordinate design and support activities.
o Lead design reviews, document decisions, and resolve technical issues.
• Team Development:
o Contribute to the professional growth of team members through coaching and feedback.
Required Qualifications
• Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
o Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience:
o Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in software engineering with strong expertise in Java full stack development.
o At least 1 year of experience leading moderate to complex engineering teams.
o Proven track record in system-level design and technology selection.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in medical devices or point-of-care instruments.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance in software development.
• Intermediate to moderate understanding of Linux Operating system.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for staying updated with the latest industry trends.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, or Vue).
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with multidisciplinary engineering principles and integration with hardware systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects to completion.

The base pay for this position is $114,000.00 – $228,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
