The Opportunity
This multidisciplinary position supports naval maintenance, logistics, and business systems requiring cross-training across applications. The role provides technical support for afloat and ashore installations, software deployment, and training. We seek a versatile IT professional who can troubleshoot complex issues, deploy software, and train naval personnel. Regular travel to naval installations is required. The ideal candidate demonstrates technical depth and commitment to supporting naval operations.
Responsibilities
+ Fleet Modernization
+ Lead application deployment rollout and cutover activities at naval installations
+ Coordinate with on-site personnel, program sponsors, ship personnel, and support teams
+ Develop technical solutions and support process improvements while identifying risks
+ Coach team members through daily engagement
+ Contribute to cost estimates for installation planning
_Service Desk Support_
+ Manage trouble tickets through resolution with effective customer communication
+ Troubleshoot complex issues across naval maintenance and logistics applications
+ Analyze system problems and determine appropriate resolution tier
+ Provide remote technical support for afloat and shore-based systems
+ Document solutions for recurring issues
_System Administration_
+ Install and maintain Windows Server operating systems
+ Manage SQL Server and Sybase database environments
+ Administer VMware virtualization environments
+ Configure web services and Microsoft .NET Framework
+ Perform database administration tasks
+ Implement backup and disaster recovery procedures
+ Support Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments
_Proactive Sustainment_
+ Test new software releases and updates
+ Develop technical documentation and procedures
+ Train end users during deployments
+ Implement Agile methodology
+ Cross-train across supported applications
Qualifications
Required
+ 12+ years hands-on software maintenance experience
+ Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain T5 clearance
+ DoD 8570 IAT Level 2+ certification
+ Must be willing to travel up to 25% various naval installations
+ Technical training in DoN maintenance, logistics, and business systems (e.g. NALCOMIS, NMCI(NGEN), SKED, NTCSS, etc.)
+ Experience in 3+ areas: System Admin, Software Maintenance, Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, or Test & Evaluation
+ Recognized expert with leadership in supporting naval systems
+ Red Hat Enterprise Linux knowledge
+ Advanced Windows operating systems knowledge (2016/2019/2022/2025, Windows 11)
+ VMware virtualization experience
+ SQL Server and Sybase database administration
+ IIS experience
+ .NET Framework experience
+ Networking concepts knowledge (TCP/IP, ports, protocols)
+ DoD system security requirements knowledge
+ Backup and security procedures experience
+ Security tools familiarity

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$75,200-$158,100
