Sanitation Specialist – Food Manufacturing Industry

Roles and Responsibilities:

+ Maintain and sanitize equipment, processing areas, and workspaces in strict accordance with company and regulatory guidelines

+ Disassemble and reassemble production equipment for thorough cleaning and sanitization

+ Monitor and document sanitation procedures, ensuring adherence to quality assurance protocols

+ Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and sanitation supplies

+ Inspect facilities daily to identify potential sanitation concerns or food safety hazards

+ Participate in regular training sessions on hygiene and food safety standards

+ Collaborate closely with the production and quality assurance teams to support a safe and efficient operation

+ Dispose of waste and manage environmental cleanliness throughout the facility

+ Respond promptly to sanitation-related emergencies to minimize risks

Qualifications & Skills:

+ High school diploma or GED preferred

+ Previous sanitation or janitorial experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment strongly preferred

+ Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and relevant food safety standards

+ Comfortable working with industrial cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals

+ Physically able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods

+ Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety

+ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

+ Strong teamwork and communication skills

+ Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends if required
