    Job Summary:

    In SE&TC we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work together with our customers. Our Engineering Lab Management Team is seeking a Lab Lead to be part of our Lab Support section. The Lab Lead will be responsible for managing Engineering Labs located in North Texas at the Independence site (Plano, TX) that develops and test product/hardware for multiple mission areas.

     

    This position is an onsite role!

    What You Will Do:

    Responsibilities include supporting the test and evaluations of our products including but not limited to:

    + Duties include coordination and execution of SE&TC Engineering Lab requirements.

    + Responsibilities include maintaining and standardizing lab infrastructure, to meet program requirements. Responsibilities also include supporting AS 9100/ISO 9001 audits, DCMA audits and EHS audits.

    + The Lab Lead shall ensure lab personnel operate to standard lab run rules and applicable SE&TC policies within the lab, ensuring compliance with Safety, Quality controls, 6S, FOD/FOE, Equipment Calibration, Raytheon Property controls, ESD controls, Housekeeping, Shelf-life Controls, Preventative Maintenance, and Ergonomics.

    + Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) Management; provide direction for lab users on established policies.

    + Management, coordination, and implementation of Environmental Health and Safety standards.

    + Ensure company and customer owned property is properly tracked, managed, and calibrated.

    + Maintain and improve the lab access list and training matrices, ensuring all personnel entering the labs are properly trained and cleared.

    + Take a proactive role in developing, understanding, and implementing common lab processes, tools, templates, and metrics.

    + Communicate issues and opportunities for improvement to team members and management.

    + Oversee audit assessment preparation; Engineering Lab Objective Evaluation and Factory & Lab Assessment reviews; develop corrective action plans and assist in the development of long-range objectives.

    + Safeguard classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation.

    + Adhere to the RTX Code of Conduct by exhibiting respect and ethical behavior to serve as a positive role model within the organization.

    + Audits which may include but are not limited to: Environmental Health and Safety, Security, Lab Quality, Customer, and Equipment.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    + Typically requires a university degree and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience.

    + Knowledgeable in lab safety and 6S (Housekeeping).

    + Leadership behaviors and willingness to make decisions and embrace change.

    + Experience with the Quality processes regarding AS 9100/ISO 9001 audits.

    + Managing compliance in an Engineering Lab or similar environment.

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    + Asset Management Systems experience (Aramis and SAP)

    + Working Knowledge of SI&T lab run rules, policies, and procedures.

    + Knowledge of ESD Controls (Garment control, wrist straps, SSWS, and monitoring)

    + Experience working directly with engineers, technicians, and leadership in an engineering lab environment in the areas of safety, security, compliance, and property management.

    + Experience with EHS, NISPOM, and Foreign Object Elimination processes.

    The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

     

    Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

     

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
