In this position...
+ In this role you lead development of compatible Mule / TPV / DCV builds plans to support program timing, budgets and prototype user test plans for engineering milestone delivery.
+ To deliver this function, you will be leading your team of three direct reports and leveraging the overall Ford Racing team to establish the target and goals of each prototype build for a specific vehicle program and establish various alternatives for the plan to gain alignment on most robust approach with the Ford Racing Production Vehicle management team.
+ Execution of the prototype and test plan over the life of the specific vehicle program, making adjustments as content changes, program milestones changes and vehicle target change for regulatory or competitive reasons.
What you'll do...
+ Create compatible vehicle test plans for several in flight programs and initial scoping for programs that are in the study phase
+ Collaborate with the vehicle users to define the “ready for test” specification of the vehicles & timing for delivery.
+ Collaborate with the Ford and Ford Supplier Build facilities to align support for the required build slots and duration.
+ Problem solve issues that arise with the build plan and gain alignment on root cause and resolution of the issue at hand in a timely manner.
+ Lead the planning details of the DCV build phase to meet all the requirements for timing and support from cross-functional teams (Build site / purchasing / GVT / Yellow Board / Engine & transmission Ford sites / New Model Launch Leadership) to have a robust Milestone delivery efficiently.
+ Establish budget targets
+ Establish critical path understanding to engage the key Ford Racing Managers for support
+ Collaborate with the Ford Racing Production Vehicle Launch and Quality Supervisor who will be taking the lead on DCV Build Execution at the DCV Build MRD.
+ Problem solve issues that arise with the build plan and gain alignment on root cause and resolution of the issue at hand in a timely manner.
+ Lead Mule and TPV Planning and Builds
+ Develop a Mule / TPV build plan that support the vehicle users needs to support either the powertrain calibration progression or the chassis development progress with the most efficient plan.
+ Lead the build of these Mules and TPV units at the build site through delivery.
+ Resolve issues on builds with support of the overall Ford Racing Production Vehicle team by leverage communication with peers in the organization.
+ Establish best practice documentation and methods to improve the Ford Racing Production Vehicle team to deliver prototype builds and more effectively.
You'll have...
+ Bachelors of Science degree required.
+ Minimum of 15 years experience in lead roles as prototype build and or testing planning.
+ Demonstrated problem solving skills.
Even better, you may have...
+ BS Degree in Engineering
+ Ability to develop clear working level documents and management presentations as well as clear/concise communication skills.
+ Ability and willingness to walk Ford and Ford Supplier Build Sites on Daily Basis
