    + This job is a member of the Airline Operations Technology organization within the Technology Division. This position is part of Pilots Technology, focusing on Day of Operations in support of multiple Operations groups including Pilots and IOC (Integrated Operations Center).

    + This position will create an environment where teams leverage Agile and DevOps methodologies to deliver platform application solutions on time, with high quality, and that meet customer expectations.     What you'll do

    + Collaborates with Business and IT leadership to define systems vision, direction, priorities, and technology roadmaps while ensuring clear communication and progress toward targets.

    + Ensures consistent application of agile project management, business analysis, and quality assurance practices, using software development best practices to maintain quality while meeting deadlines.

    + Removes roadblocks, builds strong cross‑enterprise relationships, communicates effectively at all leadership levels, and enforces technology standards across teams.

    + Drives continuous improvement of development processes and optimizes how applications support business operations, while leading adoption and migration of new and emerging technologies.

    + Oversees resource estimation, allocation, and delivery to ensure initiatives meet business needs; manages and tracks project and program schedules and budgets in partnership with controllers.

    + Maintains strong problem‑solving, multitasking, coordination, and scheduling discipline to ensure visibility, predictability, and alignment with goals.

    + Develops, mentors, and motivates a high‑performing team of technologists including project managers, business analysts, QA professionals, and developers.

    + Manages production support and off‑hours operational needs, including communication and issue resolution, and works extended hours or travels as required.

     

    All you'll need for success

    Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training

    + 10 years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience designing, developing and implementing large-scale applications in hosted production environments

    + 7 years of experience overseeing large technology projects from inception to implementation in an enterprise environment

    + 5 years of experience delivering SDLC solutions using ITIL / Agile / XP, or similar methodologies

    Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    + Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training

    + Airline industry experience, including business processes and supporting technology

    Skills, Licenses & Certifications

    + Experience in attracting, selecting, developing, and motivating technical individuals that can work as a team to meet deliverables and quickly overcome obstacles

    + Experience in leading a team of individuals with various levels of skills and experience in potentially high stress and challenging situations, across various geographic regions; strong leadership skills in transforming teams to be nimbler in delivering business capabilities

    + Ability to develop strong working relationships with other leaders within IT and across Business teams

    + Experience delivering technology solutions with third part SaaS application as well as custom developed applications.

    + Balanced delivery track record where IT hygiene (EOSL, patching, DR compliance, Technical Debt) is a focus

    + Experience in managing, supporting, and delivering 'mission-critical' projects/migrations

    + Proven ability to work with multiple teams, technical solutions, and business domains, with a focus on building action-oriented consensus, with a record of product and solution delivery

    + Experience delivering on high profile, deadline driven, contractual commitments.

    + Demonstrated ability to work in a mission-critical, non-stop, real-time environment

    + Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments

    + Demonstrated ability to thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment and leverage best practices

    + Ability to think strategically and use sound judgment and initiative in making decisions

    + Ability to manage conflicting priorities and customer expectations in a fast paced operational environment

    + Experience and thorough understanding of overall systems development life cycle practices and procedures using various methodologies (agile, lean, waterfall)

    + Strong technical experience with expertise in object-oriented programming, common data structures and algorithms, and of design patterns and best practices

    + Experience working with Agile project management methodologies and tools

    + Experience in DevOps Toolchain methodologies, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment

    + Experience providing requirements, review, approvals for contracts, and statements of work to vendor partners, internal vendor management groups, and legal

    + Experience managing financial budgets

    + Proven ability to handle multiple projects/work streams and demands efficiently
