What you’ll do:
The Managed Care Refund Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate patient and guarantor accounts through the review and processing of refunds, payments, and adjustments. This role ensures billing accuracy, account integrity, and compliance with policies by analyzing refund requests, monitoring credit balances, and performing detailed account maintenance. The position also supports Patient Financial Services and Physician Billing through research, reconciliation, and reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities
+ Analyze patient, internal, insurance, and government refund requests to determine validity and process refunds accordingly
+ Monitor and adjust credit balances in accordance with policy; report credit balances to leadership on a monthly basis
+ Review refund import files, identify errors, and report issues for follow-up
+ Work assigned patient account queues to ensure accurate payment posting and reconciliation
+ Move payments to the appropriate accounts when needed and assist with resolving multiple guarantor accounts
+ Review explanation of benefits (EOBs), apply adjustments, correct posting errors, and work missing payment reports
+ Process charge corrections, submit claims to the correct payer, and apply discounts as appropriate
+ Conduct account research, reconciliation, and patient follow-up as needed
+ Document all account activity accurately within the billing system
+ Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned

What you’ll need for this job:
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Minimum 1 year of job related experience
Compensation:
**Pay Range:** $15.76- $22.11 per hour
_Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles._
