FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Nursing at the College of Staten Island, (CSI), currently seeks candidates for a Doctoral Lecturer position. This position is anticipated to begin in August 2026. The Nursing Department is a member of the consortium of three senior City University of New York (CUNY) colleges that offer undergraduate and graduate nursing degrees. The CSI Nursing Faculty positions present an exceptional opportunity for the successful candidates to participate in the continued intellectual and institutional growth and development of the long-standing Nursing Department within the City University of New York.
CSI is a senior CUNY College organized around two academic divisions and two schools with over 11,000 students. The College awards associates, bachelor’s, master’s, and clinical doctoral degrees, and in collaboration with the CUNY Graduate Center, numerous Ph.D. degrees. CSI’s internationally recognized faculty passionately engage in scholarly and artistic activities, and together with a strong professional staff, lead students through transformational learning experiences both inside and outside of the classroom. The College is situated on a 204-acre site, has recently incorporated a residential component, and is currently engaging in capital expansion. It is a hub of intellectual and artistic activity, a community partner, and source of economic impact and job creation for the greater Staten Island area.

This is a full-time, in-person teaching position. The position of doctoral lecturer is tenure-bearing through a certificate of continuous employment (CCE).
The successful candidate will have a terminal degree in nursing (PhD, DNP, EdD). Other qualifications include the ability to teach successfully and provide service; commitment to inclusive excellence; strong communication skills, and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Doctoral degree in nursing (PhD, DNP, EdD).
+ Registered Nurses License in NYS, unencumbered.
+ Three – five years professional nursing practice in pediatrics or medical-surgical nursing.
Preferred qualifications include:
+ Advanced Practice Registered Nurse certification and experience.
+ Three to five years’ teaching experience in nursing.
+ Knowledge of standards and practice in simulation activities.
+ Experience with academic accreditation and writing curricular reports.
COMPENSATION
$87,420- $92,454
Salary commensurate with education and experience.

*Salaries will be adjusted by 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
