    Veterinary Surgery & Neurology Department Supervisor (Licensed Veterinary Technician)

     

    Compensation: $65,000–$80,000/year starting

     

    Sign-On Bonus: $2,500 + up to $2,500 relocation assistance for qualified candidates

     

    Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts + participation in On-Call Rotation.

    The Surgery & Neurology Department Supervisor provides hands-on leadership, coaching, and operational oversight to ensure high-quality patient care, efficient workflow, and strong interdepartmental communication. This role blends clinical floor work with leadership responsibilities and thrives on accountability, EQ, and team development.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Staffing & Operations – Coordinate schedules based on surgeon/neurologist caseloads, oversee anesthesia techniques, case management, and OR utilization, support safe workflows, minimize overtime, and enhance communication.

    + Training & Development – Educate on anesthesia protocols and specialty procedures, facilitate certifications, onboarding, and training materials, and promote skill growth and mentorship.

    + Team Culture & Leadership – Foster accountability, communication, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving while supporting a positive learning environment.

    + Administrative & HR Functions – Lead meetings, participate in hiring decisions, performance reviews, and corrective actions, maintain confidentiality, and support cross-department partnerships.

    Requirements:

    + Licensed & Experienced – Must be a licensed veterinary technician (LVMT) with 4+ years of experience; leadership experience (1-2 years) preferred.

    + Strong Communication & Customer Service – Excellent client interaction skills in person and on the phone, with a mission-driven focus on exemplary service.

    + Team-Oriented & Professional – Trustworthy, outgoing, cooperative, and a dedicated team player with a proactive mindset for improvement.

    + Adaptable & Efficient – Ability to multitask, stay productive in a fast-paced environment, and work beyond scheduled hours when necessary.

    + Commitment to Standards & Growth – Maintain excellent documentation, adhere to hospital policies, uphold NVS’s employee qualities, and take on additional duties as needed.

    + Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
