    Brief Position Overview

    Reporting to the Bozeman team and supporting one or more MilTech project teams from the Washington, DC area and potentially other areas, the Program Liaison will liaise with MilTech teams and multiple military customers to satisfy project and customer requirements. The Program Liaison will support teams across the Design and Integration Group ( DIG ) and, as necessary, DIG leadership, as well as supporting both internal and external organizational processes and deadline-driven data flows. Additionally, this individual will ensure work alignment with all applicable customer, federal and state, and MilTech – Montana State University requirements.

     

    While MilTech projects supported by this position are technical in nature, a technical or engineering background is not required to successfully perform the Liaison role.

    Position Details

    General Statement

    MilTech is a DOD and DHS Partnership Intermediary with the mission to accelerate the transition of new technology to the U.S. government. See montana.edu/miltech for further information.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The Program Liaison will liaise with MilTech’s team and military customers to satisfy project and customer requirements, including but not limited to the following:

    + Act as a primary resource for general project inquiries, and as reporting liaison for multiple MilTech teams in the DC area, as well as high level DIG support.

    + Proactively maintain and organize metrics, project status reports and action items, project documents, contract vehicles, and other relevant data.

    + Communicate project activities, due-dates, and budget status, and provide call notes and draft reports back to the Team Lead.

    + Organize and deliver reports and briefings as needed to support project objectives.

    + Assist in managing project schedule(s), including tracking action items and due-outs, coordinating with the MilTech Engineers, and other government and civilian partners.

    + Coordinate with MilTech, MSU , and external personnel to track the procurement of necessary supplies, goods, and services in accordance with applicable State and Federal guidelines to ensure successful execution of MilTech projects.

    + Assist with establishing and maintaining organizational structures to continually improve project data management, processing, and communication across MilTech teams, government customers, and external vendors.

    + Positively represent the MilTech program, capabilities, and industry relationships.

    + Travel to support projects as needed, working with customer and industry partners, primarily in the Washington, DC area.

    + Comply at all times with the MilTech Confidentiality Agreement governing non-disclosure of information encountered in the course of your duties, and the MilTech Technology Control Plan governing security and work controls.

    Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree related to business operations or other relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

    + Demonstrated prior project experience coordinating internal and external resources to meet operational and customer needs. Experience should include working with a high degree of attention to project details and deadlines.

    + Demonstrated experience effectively using clear and concise written and verbal communication. This includes using accurate language, organizing thoughts logically, and tailoring communications accordingly to the needs and perspectives of the recipients.

    + Demonstrated applicable experience using computer applications to generate formal business communication and reports for multiple stakeholders; creating and maintaining spreadsheets with complex data; developing PowerPoint or similar presentations for internal and external customers, and experience with using electronic filing and recordkeeping systems.

    Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

    + Prior project experience with establishing internal and external data flow processes and maintaining project archives and data logs in support of project objectives.

    + Prior experience maintaining, organizing, and reporting project data and communication of relevant information to internal and external sources.

    + Prior experience developing and submitting reports and proposals.

    + Prior experience working with remote groups and virtual meeting tools.

    + Represent MilTech in a professional manner when interacting with customers, internal and external personnel.

    + Effectively and efficiently perform work from an off campus worksite.

    + Possess excellent listening and communication skills (written and verbal).

    + Work successfully within all relevant MSU purchasing, financial and metric reporting, and travel regulations.

    + Establish and develop effective professional relationships.

    + Exhibit good judgement, flexibility, and innovation to respond to the needs of a wide variety of customers and coworkers.

    Position Special Requirements/Additional Information

    + This position is contingent upon continued grant funding and will be based within 3 hours of the greater Washington, DC area by car.

    + This position requires ability to travel via all modes of transport when necessary to interact with DOD customers, including travel throughout the Continental United States as well as Alaska, Hawaii, U.S territories and possessions, and possibly other worldwide locations.

    + Successful candidate must be able to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control laws, which may require proof that candidate is a U.S. person. Per 22 CFR §120.15, U.S. person means a person who is a lawful permanent resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or who is a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

    + This position requires the ability to meet government-defined restrictions appropriate for work level and access. Security-related requirements will include receiving favorable background checks by state and federal agencies pursuant to federal law and regulations.
