Chemical Engineering Intern

Learn chemistry of flexible-molded polyurethane foam. Perform laboratory testing and studies to understand performance of chemical blends, to deepen understanding of chemical reactions, and to cause desired changes in reaction through manipulation of chemical components. Provide weekly updates to management on progress. Give poster/table presentation of internship activities at end of summer.
Summer Interns will work 40 hours per week (full-time), with a targeted start date of May 4, 2026 through August 13, 2026
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
+ Communicate with manager to understand goals of internship project.
+ Work with manager to review current laboratory skill level, and develop further skills as necessary for completion of internship project.
+ Review and utilize standard operating procedures to operate and maintain capable performance of laboratory manufacturing equipment.
+ Conduct laboratory evaluations as required including viscosity, water content, refractive index, reactivity profile, test block molding.
+ Interact with supporting and adjacent working groups.
+ Evaluate laboratory data and construct reports to summarize results.
+ Performs special tasks as assigned.
**REPORTING:** Principal Manufacturing Engineer - Chemical Development Team
Other position requirements:
+ Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and working towards a 4-year B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering.
+ Available to work up to 40 hours per week
+ Minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0.
+ Previous internship or co-op experience in automotive related position an added plus
+ Solid analytical skills and work effectively with customers, suppliers, and the development team.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail, organization skills and follow-up
+ Proficient in MS Office
