Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor leads plant maintenance operations to support safe, compliant, and reliable food manufacturing. This role oversees maintenance personnel responsible for production equipment, utilities, refrigeration, and facility systems, ensuring equipment uptime, sanitation readiness, and regulatory compliance. The Maintenance Supervisor partners closely with operations to minimize downtime, protect food safety, and sustain efficient production.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical judgment, team leadership, and experience in regulated manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Leadership
+ Lead and develop maintenance mechanics and electricians across mechanical, electrical, and utility systems
+ Ensure safe work practices, food safety standards, and maintenance procedures are followed
Equipment Reliability
+ Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for processing and packaging equipment
+ Troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime and support reliable production
Planning & Continuous Improvement
+ Coordinate maintenance planning and scheduling with production and sanitation teams
+ Drive preventive maintenance, SOP adherence, and continuous improvement initiatives
Safety, Quality & Compliance
+ Ensure maintenance activities meet food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements
+ Maintain accurate maintenance records and support audits and inspections
Performance & People Leadership
+ Monitor maintenance KPIs including downtime and PM compliance
+ Coach, develop, and support maintenance team members while providing off-shift leadership as needed
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field plus 2+ years of maintenance or manufacturing leadership experience **or** equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Experience supporting maintenance operations in food or regulated manufacturing environments
+ Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office
+ Ability to support extended hours, weekends, and emergency maintenance needs
Preferred Qualifications
+ Technical experience with refrigeration systems, boilers, compressed air, electrical controls, PLCs, or mechanical systems
+ Working knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs and CMMS systems
+ Demonstrated leadership skills including coaching, conflict resolution, and decision-making
+ Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, production-driven environments
+ Bilingual skills a plus
