    Description

    Our team is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Terrell, TX. The successful candidate will coordinate shipping and receiving activities for customer orders, returns, and vendor shipments, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and safety throughout the process.

    Requirements

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Schedule shipments for customer orders, returns, and outside vendors in a timely manner.

    + Coordinate with freight carriers and delivery drivers to ensure efficient dispatch.

    + Prepare shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading, manifests) accurately and on time.

    + Validate products are properly packaged, labeled, and ready for shipment.

    + Ensure all required documentation (product deviations, PPAP, First Article, Pre-Delivery Inspection) is complete and attached when necessary, in collaboration with quality team associates.

    + Safely load and secure goods for shipment to ensure product and personnel safety.

    + Receive shipments by unloading, inspecting, labeling, and entering materials into the warehouse management system.

    + Communicate professionally with internal departments including purchasing, logistics, production, and external shipping/receiving contacts.

    + Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely (forklift certification required).

    + Assist with the training and mentoring of new warehouse associates.

    + Maintain a clean and organized work environment, performing end-of-shift clean-up duties.

    + Follow all company policies and safety guidelines.

    + Perform other tasks assigned by supervisors or managers.

    Qualifications:

    + Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.

    + Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, banding, and wrapping machines (certification required for forklifts).

    + Strong organizational and documentation skills.

    + Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

    + Commitment to safety and attention to detail.
