Description
We are looking for a dependable and organized PART TIME Mailroom Assistant to join our team in San Francisco, California. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient handling and processing of incoming and outgoing mail and packages, while maintaining a clean and secure mailroom environment. This is a long-term contract position, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth operations of our workplace.
Responsibilities:
• Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages to the appropriate recipients in a timely manner.
• Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and arranging carrier pickups.
• Coordinate daily delivery and pickup schedules with shipping carriers to ensure smooth logistics.
• Monitor and log deliveries, addressing any issues related to missing, delayed, or misrouted items.
• Maintain an organized and secure mailroom, ensuring supplies are well-stocked and areas are tidy.
• Replenish mailroom materials such as boxes, tape, and labels, and notify the office operations team when inventory is low.
• Assist with office-related tasks connected to mailroom workflows, including returns and equipment shipments.
• Provide clear communication to employees regarding package statuses, pickup instructions, and special handling requirements.
• Adhere to safety and security protocols for handling sensitive or confidential deliveries.
• Foster a service-oriented environment, ensuring employees feel supported in their mailroom needs.
Requirements
• Previous experience in mailroom operations, shipping/receiving, or warehouse environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Ability to lift and move packages, with accommodations as necessary.
• Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Detail-oriented approach and excellent interpersonal skills to interact with employees effectively.
• Familiarity with shipping software or tools, as well as carrier portals, is a plus.
• Knowledge of inventory management and supply tracking is desirable.
• Experience in administrative roles or supporting office operations teams is beneficial.
