    Description

    Robert Half is recruiting for an experienced interim Controller to stabilize accounting operations during a transition period. This role focuses on month-end and year-end close, clearing reconciliation backlogs, strengthening processes (SOPs), and preparing for an upcoming audit review. This interim role will be located onsite in Ontario, CA.

    Key Responsibilities

    - Lead month-end and year-end close to ensure accurate, timely financials.

     

    - Complete overdue balance sheet reconciliations and prepare supporting schedules.

     

    - Prepare and review journal entries with proper documentation.

     

    - Develop and update SOPs for key accounting processes.

     

    - Strengthen internal controls and improve workflow efficiency.

     

    - Prepare audit-ready schedules and serve as the main contact for auditors.

    Qualifications

    - Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.

     

    - 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller-level work.

     

    - Strong GAAP knowledge and audit experience.

     

    - Intermediate Excel and accounting system proficiency.

     

    - Hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to operate in a fast-paced environment.

    Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

     

    • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including prior experience as a Controller.

    • Strong audit knowledge and proficiency in preparing for audit reviews.

    • Intermediate-level expertise in Excel and accounting software systems.

    • Detail-oriented and capable of managing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

    • Ability to lead financial operations and drive process improvements.

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive work ethic.

    • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
