    Job Title: Manufacturing Test Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Test Engineer to join our team. Our company specializes in manufacturing electronics and telematics offerings for the automotive and transportation industry. As a Manufacturing Test Engineer, you will be pivotal in testing electronics during and post-manufacturing to ensure the highest quality of our products.

    Responsibilities

    + Quote, design, and develop manufacturing test solutions for new product introductions.

    + Develop software using C#, C, and NI TestStand to control test instruments and Units Under Test.

    + Demonstrate proficiency in developing hardware and software for production test solutions.

    + Interpret MySQL database schema and write database queries.

    + Provide ongoing support for existing products related to engineering change orders, yield issues, reliability improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

    + Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal project stakeholders.

    + Manage project scopes and timelines, coordinating initiatives with Project Managers.

    + Collaborate with Production Engineers and Supervisors to integrate test systems into the production process.

    + Analyze test performance data and use production personnel input to drive test improvement opportunities.

    + Develop and interpret test requirements and identify necessary test equipment.

    + Identify, assess, and resolve hardware and software issues.

    + Compile and interpret Gage R&R and Cpk studies.

    + Support root cause analysis of field return issues and implement additional test coverage as needed.

    + Create documentation describing test design concepts and operator instructions.

    + Participate in peer reviews of test solutions.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in hardware integration and end-of-line testing.

    + Proficiency in LabVIEW, C#, and Python.

    + Experience with troubleshooting test stands on the manufacturing floor.

    + Ability to integrate hardware into testing procedures.

    + Strong skills in SQL, CAN, and serial communication.

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience in manufacturing Printed Circuit Board Assemblies.

    + Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

    + Experience is open to candidates with no degree if they have 10+ years of relevant experience.

    Work Environment

    Our work environment is a large, state-of-the-art electronics manufacturing facility located in Woodridge, IL. The facility is family-owned and operated, offering a friendly atmosphere. It includes a cafeteria and a workout room. The role involves a 60% office and 40% manufacturing floor split. The dress code is business casual, with standard working hours from 8 am to 5 pm.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodridge, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
