    CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR

    Description

    Will be responsible for inspection and observation on various MDOT road projects throughout SE Michigan, and possibly the entire state. Will handle daily reports within Field Book, and work with internal and external teams on these projects. Will be working on underground utility, road, and/or bridge construction projects weekly. Will be reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and maps. Will evaluate and review plans and specs for the job site that needs to be inspected. Will perform Density and/or Concrete testing on an as-needed basis. Will need to able to work in any weather condition. Will be given a work truck, so a clean driving record is needed. During summer months, will need to commit to working 50-60 hours per week, including some weekends when necessary. They cannot guarantee a full 40 hour work week over the winter months due to project slowdown.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    MUST HAVES:

    2 plus years of Construction Inspection/Observation experience

     

    MDOT project experience (at least 1 season)

     

    Clean Driving Record

     

    Field Book knowledge

     

    MDOT Certs (HMA, Density, Concrete, etc)

     

    Ability to work 50-60 hours plus in busy months of year

    BONUS:

    5 plus years of MDOT inspection experience

     

    Associates in Civil or similar technical field

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomfield Hills, MI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
