Job Description
As a Cloud Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our Oracle Cloud data platforms. Your role will involve designing, operating, and optimizing OCI-based database services, balancing availability, cost, and compliance for mission-critical applications and analytics.
Responsibilities
+ Design secure, scalable topologies using VCN/NSGs, Load Balancing, Autoscaling, Object/Block/File Storage, and FastConnect.
+ Implement architecture with OCI Resource Manager (Terraform) and automate processes using OCI CLI/Python.
+ Administer Autonomous Database (ATP/ADW), Oracle Database Cloud Service, and Exadata Cloud/Cloud@Customer.
+ Perform schema design, indexing/partitioning, and SQL tuning with AWR/ASH, SQL Trace, and SQL Plan Management.
+ Implement Data Guard/Active Data Guard, RAC (where applicable), and RMAN strategies to OCI Object Storage.
+ Execute point-in-time recovery and routine disaster recovery tests to meet RPO/RTO targets.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency with Oracle Cloud, Terraform, OCI, and DBA.
+ Experience with OCI core services and SQL.
+ Strong skills in scripting with Python.
+ 5+ years of experience in DBA/cloud roles managing Oracle databases in production.
+ Strong expertise in SQL and performance tuning.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 4-year technical degree (BSEE, BSCS, or BSCE).
+ Hands-on experience with OCI core services, Autonomous DB, Data Guard, RMAN, and GoldenGate.
+ Proficiency with Linux, Git, and scripting (Python/Bash/PowerShell).
+ Demonstrated experience implementing HA/DR, backup/restore, and security controls for regulated/PII data.
+ Preferred Oracle certifications (OCI Architect/Operations, Autonomous DB, GoldenGate) and Exadata experience.
+ Familiarity with Kubernetes/OKE, Redis, TimesTen, or lakehouse patterns (Object Storage + Spark/Trino).
Work Environment
This position is remote, with a preference for candidates located in the EST/CST time zones. You will be part of a tight-knit team working on innovative technology and applications, providing opportunities for up-and-coming engineers. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $67.00/hr.
