    Job Title: Packager** **Job Description

     

    We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our food production team as Packagers. In this role, you will be responsible for packaging and bagging finished products, specifically tortillas, for various well-known companies in the United States. This position requires adherence to strict hygiene standards, including wearing a full gown, hair net, and beard net (if applicable). The work environment is fast-paced and can reach temperatures up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit, necessitating comfort with heat and the ability to lift up to 50lbs.

    Responsibilities

    + Package and bag finished products at the end of the production line.

    + Box finished bags of tortillas and dispose of faulty bags.

    + Stack boxes and bag products while rotating between different duties throughout the shift.

    + Lift up to 30lbs throughout the shift and stand for the entire duration.

    + Communicate equipment errors to machine operators.

    + Verify proper packaging is available and being used.

    + Confirm the quantity of tortillas and notify the lead if the count is inaccurate.

    + Inspect seals and set aside packages that do not meet quality standards.

    + Ensure proper cartons are being used and verify code date legibility and accuracy.

    + Prepare boxes for packaging, ensure box printers operate properly, and seal and tape boxes.

    + Place finished products on pallets and wrap them for warehouse loading.

    + Ensure adequate supplies in the packing area and empty food waste containers.

    Essential Skills

    + 6 months experience in packaging.

    + Comfort working in an environment with gluten in the air.

    + Ability to lift 50lbs consistently.

    + Proficiency in working with computers for data entry.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in food production, especially in a bakery setting, is preferred.

    + Comfort working in a fast-paced and hot environment up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

    + Ability to stand for 8 hours a day.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eagan, MN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.15 - $18.15/hr.
