    HVAC Service Technician - 90% Travel

     

    HVAC Service Technicians are responsible for traveling (90%) to customer sites to start up, commission, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC data center equipment. This role requires a high degree of independence, strong diagnostic capabilities, and the ability to manage onsite activities, including coordination with other trades and service providers.

    Primary Responsibilities

    + Travel extensively (approximately 90% across the U.S.) to perform start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of Munters Data Center equipment.

    + Work independently while demonstrating advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

    + Manage onsite project activities and coordinate effectively with other trades and service teams.

    + Provide customer training and deliver detailed, accurate service reports.

    + Respond promptly and professionally to customer service requests.

    + Apply 5+ years of mechanical experience, specifically within the HVAC field.

    Compensation

    + **Base Pay:** $36–$42 per hour, depending on experience

    + **Overtime:** 1.5× hourly rate for hours worked over 40 per week

    + **Sunday Premium:** 2× hourly rate for all hours worked on Sundays

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Ability to travel 90% across the U.S. (via air travel and company-provided service vehicle).

    + Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose issues, record data, and work safely.

    + Comprehensive understanding of safety procedures, including Arc Flash, Lockout/Tagout, and proper use of electrical PPE.

    + Extensive refrigeration expertise, including pressure testing, evacuation, charging, brazing, soldering, and full-system diagnostics. Must hold a universal refrigeration certification.

    + Proficiency with control systems, including troubleshooting, programming, downloading, and working with PLC platforms. Ability to connect to PLCs, retrieve data, and make adjustments.

    + (Optional) State Licensed Master HVAC Mechanic—preferred but not required.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    + Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

    + Effective communication with onsite personnel, Sales Project Managers, Service Managers, and Technical Support teams.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $74880.00 - $87360.00/yr.
