Job Title: Transportation Supervisor** **Job Description

The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely shipment of all customer orders while ensuring operational efficiency within the Shipping Department. This role provides daily leadership to team members, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with all company policies, procedures, and World Wide Business Standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of shipping operations, and the ability to maintain a productive, positive work environment. The current shift is 11 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with flexibility when needed.

Responsibilities

+ Ensure all customer orders are shipped accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.

+ Supervise international shipping, national shipping, and ocean freight within a multi‑building Shipping Department.

+ Maintain a complete working knowledge of all shipping processes, systems, reporting tools, and vendor requirements.

+ Hire, train, and develop new team members.

+ Conduct performance reviews, recommend wage adjustments, and monitor attendance.

+ Address early‑stage employee relations issues and support conflict resolution.

+ Work alongside staff as needed to meet departmental workload and service expectations.

+ Track daily, weekly, and monthly labor usage and productivity to meet or exceed established budgets.

+ Identify, research, and resolve issues that impact accuracy, efficiency, or workflow.

+ Maintain awareness of how shipping operations affect both internal and external customers.

+ Ensure all work meets company standards for quality, productivity, and accuracy.

+ Perform all tasks in alignment with company policies, procedures, and World Wide Business Standards.

+ Uphold workplace behavior expectations and support a safe, respectful, and compliant work environment.

+ Participate in special projects and cross‑departmental initiatives as assigned.

+ Perform other duties as needed to support departmental and organizational goals.

Essential Skills

+ Prior leadership experience of 5-10 years in building, leading, and managing a team.

+ Experience with international shipping.

+ Experience with shipping hazardous materials.

+ Comfortable working through change, process improvements, and collaborating with direct reports.

+ Managing department with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

+ Skills in safety, warehouse management, supply chain, leadership, and management.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position in a clean, temperature-controlled, and relatively quiet warehouse. Employees wear casual clothing and steel-toe shoes, with no additional PPE required. The team includes 27-28 people across three departments, led by tenured team leads and specialists. The volume of work varies, with some days reaching up to 50K cases, and includes both cases and loose pick products.

This is a Permanent position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
