60% Administrative Support
+ Addresses requests from an interdisciplinary project team offering evidence-based technology education for all populations.
+ Provides administrative assistance to project PI.
+ Assists with project team meetings, workshops, research activities and events.
+ Assists with participant recruitment and retention.
+ Assists with project coordination, implementation, administrative procedures.
30% Event Coordination and Communication
+ Coordinates workshop sessions with community partners.
+ Develops internal and external communication plans for community and participant events.
+ Documents participant progress in research and education participation.
+ Creates promotional materials for project activities.
10% Other Tasks/Special Projects
+ Other tasks or projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s OR high school diploma/GED and three (3) years of experience in field of study.
2. One (1) year of work experience in administrative support work, communication, event planning, or related area.
3. Excellent written communication skills as evidenced by application materials.
4. Excellent organizational skills and experience working independently as demonstrated in application materials.

Position Overview:
The Institute for Policy & Social Research (IPSR) is a designated research center for the social sciences, supporting social science researchers at the University of Kansas. IPSR supports faculty-led research centers, their directors, and a network of more than 100 affiliates, and staff.
This position provides administrative support for the Dr. Seo’s projects. The research project specialist will write for multiple purposes/audiences and be and organized, detail-oriented, and adept at problem-solving. The research project specialist will provide administrative support for event planning and promotion, project coordination, participant recruitment, and research activities.
