    Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – CV/CT Surgery (Inpatient)

    **Location:** Baylor Scott & White Fort Worth – Heart Hospital

    **Schedule:** 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM | 4 days/week (10-hour shifts)

    Position Overview

    Baylor Scott & White Fort Worth – Heart Hospital is seeking an experienced **Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)** to join our **Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery inpatient team** . This role involves collaborative, high-acuity patient care across ICU and inpatient settings, with opportunities for outpatient clinic involvement.

     

    The ACNP will work in rotation with other Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and closely alongside attending physicians in a team-based environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Participate in **morning ICU rounds**

    + Conduct **inpatient rounds and consultations**

    + Perform **ED consults** and hospital consults

    + Provide **new patient evaluations and follow-up visits**

    + Manage **pre- and post-hospital rounding**

    + Assist with **outpatient clinic** responsibilities

    + Perform procedures including:

    + Chest tube removal

    + Epicardial wire extraction

    + Patient volume varies depending on service needs and census

    Weekend Coverage

    + **2 weekends per month** (Saturday/Sunday mornings)

    + Weekend rounding performed in rotation with two other APPs

    + **Physician backup available at all times**

    Qualifications

    + Certified **Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)**

    + **Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred** , ideally in CV/CT surgery, ICU, or acute care inpatient settings

    + Strong clinical assessment, procedural, and collaboration skills

    + Eligible for Texas APRN licensure (or currently licensed)

    QUALIFICATIONS

    - EDUCATION - Grad of an Accredited Program

    - CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -

    Nurse Practitioner (NP)

     

    Registered Nurse (RN)

     

    Basic Life Support (BLS): Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer.

     

    Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)

    Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred, ideally in CV/CT surgery, ICU, or acute care inpatient settings
