SUMMARY: The Ultrasound Technologist I is responsible to perform all ultrasound procedures in an accurate, precise, timely and professional manner. The technologist must perform the duties following the policies and procedures of Moore County Hospital District and the Radiology Department. The technologist must maintain good communication with Radiologist, Radiology Director and all other hospital staff. EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * Educational courses with an approved ultrasound school preferred * Possess or obtain ARDMS OR ARRT certification in Abdomen (AB) or OB/GYN within one (1) year of employment EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: · 1 yr. preferred with ARRT, ARDMS, or ARDMS eligible LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: · RDMS or RDMS eligible * Current CPR/BLS OTHER REQUIREMENTS: · Knowledge of JCAHO accreditation process · Personal computer skills · Excellent technical, communication, organizational and planning skills * Demonstrates the knowledge to provide direct and indirect care to patients of all ages: including infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. * Performs procedures to ensure quality patient care in accordance with Radiologists expectations and protocols. * Displays knowledge and complies with the National Patient Safety goals. * Supports and reports any identified compliance matters. * Participates in hospital and department quality assurance programs to ensure safety and satisfaction. * Participates in equipment quality control. * Completes all required records and documentation. * Maintains professional development and education for technical competency. * Uses standard precautions, PPE, at all times. * Maintains regulatory compliance and licensure for current position. * Completes all MCHD required educational programs. * Contributes to the efficient operation and monitoring of the department and utilizes our resources efficiently. * Demonstrates complete working knowledge of equipment within assigned area. * Knowledge and performance of the Code of Conduct Standards. * Follows physician’s orders. * Participates in call/holiday coverage.
