    Key Responsibilities

    Safety: Ensure all safety procedures are followed. Hold employees accountable for working safely and proactively identify and eliminate hazards. Immediately report all near misses, incidents, first aid cases, and unsafe working conditions to the Plant Manager and Safety Manager without exception. Model and administer safety within the assigned area. Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations and plant safety standards. Maintain responsibility for personal safety and the safety of all employees.

     

    Production: Verify job specifications prior to production. Inspect print and cut quality throughout runs. Feed cartons into machinery and restart equipment as needed. Perform basic machine operation and maintenance, including knowledge of the Leary System. Demonstrate basic palletizing and packing knowledge for all jobs. Assist operators with packing station setup, including tape machines and ink jet printers. Assist with make-ready activities and locating corrugated cases when applicable. Perform rework duties as required. Ensure product safety and product quality and report any issues to Senior Management or the Quality Manager.

     

    Maintenance: Assist with machine maintenance and minor repairs when necessary.

     

    Housekeeping: Assist with housekeeping of assigned machinery and maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas.

     

    Machinery: Assist operators and operator trainees with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery issues.

     

    Additional responsibility: Serve as backup to the Production Department Manager when required.
