Description

We are seeking an Specialist Software Engineer to join our customers Integration Team supporting the the technology used by their Financial Advisor business users.

This role focuses on API-first development, third-party SaaS integrations, and modernization of legacy systems in a highly regulated financial services environment. You will design and implement scalable solutions that enable seamless connectivity between internal platforms and external vendor systems, driving innovation and efficiency for thousands of agents.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain cloud-native applications on AWS using modern .NET frameworks.

Design and implement RESTful APIs for third-party integrations and internal systems.

Collaborate with architecture teams and vendors to deliver API-first solutions.

Support integration of SaaS platforms and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Participate in modernization efforts, migrating legacy applications to modern tech stacks.

Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior developers and driving best practices.

Work closely with business stakeholders to understand workflows and deliver solutions that improve agent productivity.

Ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable code aligned with enterprise standards.

1. .NET Development

• Experience Required: 10+ years of hands-on experience with .NET (preferably .NET Core and modern frameworks).

• Why Important:

o The integration team builds and maintains applications that connect third-party systems to core platforms.

o Strong .NET skills are critical for developing APIs, microservices, and integration layers.

o Legacy systems exist (VB6), but modernization efforts are underway and require deep .NET expertise to migrate and maintain functionality.

• Experience Required: 3–5+ years of experience designing and implementing AWS-native solutions.

o The team is moving toward AWS-native architectures for scalability and security.

o Candidates must understand AWS services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3) to build robust integrations.

o Previous gaps in candidates were due to lack of AWS depth—this is a must-have skill for future-proofing the platform.

3. REST API Development

• Experience Required: 6+ years building and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Why Important:

o APIs are the backbone of integration between internal systems and third-party SaaS applications.

o The role involves creating spoke APIs and enabling deep linking with carriers and financial platforms.

o Strong API design ensures secure, efficient data exchange and supports compliance requirements in regulated environments.

• Experience Required: 5+ years with SQL Server or similar relational databases.

o Integration projects involve moving large volumes of data between systems for analytics and compliance.

o Candidates need to write optimized queries, handle data transformations, and support reporting needs.

o While modern API work is the focus, legacy systems still rely on direct database interactions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Philadelphia, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $85.00/hr.
