Who will you be working with?
You will interact with team members within Wabtec across all levels of the organization.
How will you make a difference?
You will be responsible for purchasing materials and managing supplier relationships. The Buyer will analyze MRP data and forecasts to optimize inventory levels while ensuring production requirements are met. You will collaborate cross-functionally and resolve complex delivery and quality issues with suppliers.
What will your typical day look like?
+ Source and procure materials based on MRP requirements and forecasts.
+ Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, terms, and delivery schedules; prepare RFQs/RFPs and purchase orders.
+ Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels; analyze spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
+ Collaborate with manufacturing, planning, quality, customer service, and engineering to align material requirements and inventory control.
+ Resolve complex delivery, pricing, and quality issues; participate in supplier audits and performance evaluations.
+ Track and report sourcing savings and key procurement KPIs; support global and strategic sourcing initiatives.
+ Coordinate supplier notification of engineering or technical changes; ensure ERP data accuracy (items, suppliers, lead times).
You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
This is not a remote role.
The salary for this role is in the range of $62,100 - $85,300 annually.
The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. Qualifications
What do we want to know about you?
+ Do you have an Associate's degree in a Business-related field or equivalent experience?
+ Do you have at least 1–3 years of procurement experience in manufacturing?
+ Do you have an understanding of manufacturing processes and MRP systems along with ERP experience?
+ Are you proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)?
+ Do you have strong negotiation, analytical, and time management skills; ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications?
+ Do you have knowledge of internal controls (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley) as they relate to purchasing and sourcing?
+ Are you experienced in the use of systems such as Oracle, Coupa Procure-to-Pay, HICX Supplier Onboarding, and Power BI?
+ Have you earned any purchasing certifications (e.g., CPSM/CPM preferred; ASCM/APICS credentials [CPIM/CSCP] beneficial)?
+ Are you an excellent communicator (verbal/written) with the ability to present business reports and recommendations?
+ Do you have strong attention to detail, quality orientation, customer service mindset; ability to work collaboratively?
+ Are you committed to professional and ethical conduct aligned with corporate values, and the pursuit of continuous development?
+ Are you able to travel up to 10%, or as needed?

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $62100-85300 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include annual bonus, if eligible.
