    The Desktop Support Specialist Intern assists staff in Amergis’ Corporate Office and remote locations with technical support of laptop and desktop computers, applications, and related technology. This support includes installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting of computer systems and peripherals within established guidelines. In addition, the Desktop Support Specialist Intern helps maintain, upgrade and repair associated equipment.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Assists the End User Computing team with daily operations including imaging, testing, and deployment of company laptops and desktop computers.

    + Assists with troubleshooting and resolution of end user hardware and software issues.

    + Performs installation of computer equipment and peripherals.

    + Assists with upcoming company projects including replacing over 800 outdated user devices with newer models and upgrading all company computers to Windows 11.

    + Assists Amergis employees with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of computers, peripheral equipment, and software.

    + Works with the Amergis Service Desk and other IS teams to resolve technical problems with computer equipment and software.

    + Troubleshoots and resolves support tickets within ServiceNow escalated by the Service Desk.

    + Assists with supporting other projects and programs.

    + Performs other duties as assigned/necessary.

    + Adheres to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies, and procedures.

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Experience supporting Windows laptop and desktop computers

    + High School diploma or equivalent required; CompTIA A+ certification and/or MCP certification is a plus.

    + Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware on both desktop and laptop PCs.

    + Experience installing software, patches, updates on desktops, laptops, servers.

    + Experience troubleshooting basic network, software, and printing problems.

    + Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
