Senior Payments Business Analyst (ISO 20022 / Generalist)
**Location:** New York, USA
**Work Model:** Hybrid — 3 days per week onsite at the New York client location; 2 days remote.

About the role
This role supports broader ISO 20022 migration and payments transformation activities, including custom formats, niche legacy files, and cross-stream coordination. This role requires strong domain expertise in legacy payment formats, end‑to‑end payment processing, and field‑level mapping across multiple integration channels.
In this role, you will
• Support ISO 20022 adoption across multiple payment rails and formats.
• Analyze and map custom or proprietary payment file formats.
• Ensure compliance with Hybrid Address and CBPR+ requirements.
• Partner with product, technology, and migration teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Assist with requirements gathering, documentation, and testing coordination.
• Provide subject matter expertise across payments workflows and standards.
What you must have to be considered
• 7–10+ years in payments business analysis.
• Strong ISO 20022 knowledge and migration experience.
• Exposure to legacy/custom payment formats.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced, regulatory-driven initiatives.
These will help you succeed
• Experience working across multiple payment rails beyond standard ISO 20022 flows.
• Hands-on experience analyzing poorly documented or proprietary file formats.
• Understanding of regulatory environments influencing cross‑border payments.
• Ability to translate complex payment rules into clear technical and business documentation.
• Familiarity with transformation testing, data validation, or message simulation tools.

Compensation & Pay Transparency (New York, USA)
**Salary Range:** $100,000 – $115,000 USD annually, based on experience and qualifications. Eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program. **Cost-Of-Living Adjustment (** COLA) amount of $7500 USD

Compensation decisions are based on various factors including skills, experience, and market conditions. The posted range reflects Cognizant’s good-faith estimate at the time of posting.
