Job Title: SAP S/4HANA EWM Functional Architect

About the Role

The SAP S/4HANA EWM Functional Architect will lead the end‑to‑end design, architecture, and deployment of Embedded EWM solutions across multiple manufacturing and distribution sites. This role is responsible for establishing scalable, standardized warehouse processes within S/4HANA and ensuring seamless integration with cross-functional systems and teams. You will serve as the primary subject matter expert, guiding solution design, rollout execution, and adoption across the enterprise.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered

+ Lead the architecture, governance, and implementation of SAP S/4HANA Embedded EWM across warehouses, plants, and distribution centers—ensuring scalable, standardized solutions aligned with industry best practices.

+ Drive full lifecycle rollout execution, including configuration, integration, master/data readiness, fit-gap workshops, solution validation, testing cycles, cutover planning, and end‑user training support.

+ Partner with business process owners, IT teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate logistics and warehouse requirements into robust SAP solution designs covering master data, RF processes, resource/labor management, and automation scenarios.

+ Ensure seamless integration between EWM and SAP modules such as MM, PP, SD, TM, and third‑party logistics technologies.

+ Conduct design workshops, lead fit/gap analysis, document solution decisions, and secure stakeholder alignment.

+ Mentor internal consultants and support teams; serve as a subject matter expert for S/4HANA EWM strategy, solutioning, and best practices.

Work Model

This role may be structured in a hybrid or remote model depending on organizational needs, with periodic travel required to support onsite workshops, solution validation, and deployment activities across warehouse or plant locations.

These Will Help You Stand Out

+ Experience architecting complex, multi‑site EWM deployments with automation, material flow systems, or advanced warehouse technologies.

+ Proven ability to influence and drive process standardization across geographically dispersed teams.

+ Strong leadership presence with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

+ Experience in designing RF screens, optimizing warehouse labor, and implementing operational KPIs.

+ Background supporting continuous improvement initiatives or global template rollouts.

Essential Skills & Technical Expertise

+ Deep expertise in SAP EWM configuration, troubleshooting, and architecture—preferably within SAP S/4HANA Embedded EWM environments.

+ Strong understanding of warehouse processes: inbound/outbound logistics, inventory management, picking/packing, replenishment, cross‑docking, physical inventory, labor/resource management, and integration with automation systems.

+ Hands-on knowledge of technical integration with SAP modules (MM, PP, SD, TM, YL) and ability to guide custom development using ABAP for specialized business needs.

+ Proficiency in enterprise-level solution design, including creating functional specifications, reviewing technical design documents, and ensuring high‑quality development and delivery.

+ Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills; ability to coach junior team members and collaborate across business and IT.

Qualifications & Experience

+ 10+ years of SAP experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to EWM.

+ Minimum of 3 years working with SAP S/4HANA Embedded EWM.

+ Proven track record of leading full-cycle EWM implementations across manufacturing or distribution environments.

+ Strong understanding of warehousing/logistics best practices: material flow, labor planning, cross‑docking, slotting, and integration architecture.

+ Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
