We have an outstanding career for opportunity for anElectrical Engineer to join a leading Company located in theSalem, VA surrounding area.
Seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the New Product Development Team. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional responsible for all electrical design functions to support our rapidly expanding electronic security product lines.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Hardware and firmware design for microcontroller-based products.
+ Create/complete electrical component and system-level designs.
+ Create/complete Bills-of-Materials (BOM's), technical documentation to support electrical designs.
+ Successfully transition new products from concept into production through support, training, and cross-departmental communications.
+ Manage, participate in and lead development teams developing early prototypes with potential customers.
+ Create technical design specifications and test plan requirements.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
+ Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
+ 3+ years of work experience - New product development background preferred.
+ Hardware design experience with digital and analog circuits.
+ Experience in the design of wireless RF communications.
+ Experience in PCB design, layout and assembly, preferably using Altium software.
+ Ambition, energy, and drive to continuously improve processes .
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to travel approximately 10%.
Desired Qualifications:
+ Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.
+ Experience with battery power optimization, low-power electro-mechanical actuators, micro-motors, solenoids .
+ Circuit design and embedded code development utilizing MicroChip PIC, ATMEL , ARM , microcontrollers .
+ A working knowledge of .NET, TCP/IP, Ethernet, and communication protocols.
+ Experience in manufacturing and testing. (HALT, Standards, etc.)
+ Project management skills.
+ Strong team player with excellent time management skills.
+ Strong interpersonal and customer-facing communication skills.
+ Innovative, motivated, and process-oriented professional.
