**PURPOSE** :
The Director, Marketing Automation serves as a strategic enterprise leader and functional owner of Wondr Health’s marketing automation ecosystem. This role drives the vision, governance, and execution of marketing automation across the organization, ensuring alignment with enterprise growth objectives and customer experience excellence. The Director will lead the implementation and optimization of the core marketing automation platform, establishing best practices and enabling scalable, data-driven adoption and engagement strategies.
This position partners closely with Marketing, Product, IT, and other business units to deliver integrated, automated campaigns that accelerate participant acquisition, enrollment, engagement, and retention.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** **:
Enterprise Leadership & Strategy
+ Define and champion the **Marketing Automation Center of Excellence** , setting enterprise-wide standards, governance, and performance benchmarks.
+ Serve as the **functional leader** for marketing automation, influencing cross-functional priorities and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
+ Partner with senior leadership to integrate automation strategies into broader marketing and business plans.
Platform Ownership
+ Lead the **implementation, configuration, and optimization of** **marketing automation platform** , ensuring seamless integration with CRM and other enterprise systems.
+ Establish robust workflows, QA processes, and documentation for automated journeys across channels (email, SMS, push notifications, print, etc.).
+ Drive platform innovation by leveraging advanced capabilities for AI personalization, segmentation, and lifecycle marketing.
+ Own platform operational health, incident triage, and work cross-functionally to provide resolution
Campaign Execution & Optimization
+ Oversee ideation, development, and flawless execution of automated campaigns that enhance participant experience and deliver measurable ROI.
+ Implement rigorous A/B and multi-variant testing and performance analytics to optimize touchpoint conversions and overall adoption and engagement.
+ Partner with analytics for campaign measurement standards (tagging, attribution inputs) and definition of KPIs and dashboard inputs.
+ Collaborate with creative and content teams to ensure templates and messaging align with brand standards and audience insights.
Team Leadership
+ Build, supervise and mentor a high-performing marketing automation team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
+ Manage external resources and vendor relationships to support platform enhancements and campaign execution.
Compliance & Data Integrity
+ Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations and compliance standards across all automated marketing activities.
+ Maintain reputation monitoring, deliverability, data hygiene and governance practices to support accurate segmentation and reporting.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
+ Strategic enterprise leadership with ability to both lead and influence cross-functional priorities.
+ Deep expertise in marketing automation platforms, with **Iterable** **experience strongly preferred** .
+ Advanced understanding of rules-based workflows, AI personalization, and lifecycle marketing.
+ Data-driven decision-making and strong analytical skills.
+ Exceptional project management and organizational capabilities.
+ Collaborative mindset with proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to executive stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS** **:
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Technology, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience:
+ 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, including 5+ years in marketing automation leadership roles.
+ Proven success implementing and managing **Iterable** or similar enterprise-grade automation platforms.
+ Expertise in email marketing, lead nurturing, and multi-channel campaign orchestration.
+ Familiarity with CRM integrations and data governance best practices.
Preferred:
+ Experience in health, technology, or consumer-focused industries.
+ Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for email and landing page optimization.
GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
General office working conditions can be remote work from home or in the office. Each department head determines if position is work from home or hybrid meaning works from home and in the office as needed. Work schedules vary. When working in the office pod workstation area has little or no privacy. Involves extended periods of sitting at a workstation performing computer duties. Constant flow of interruptions by personnel, visitors to the area and telephone calls. Private workstations are available as needed. Certain positions are assigned an office.
