Job Description
BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company, is hiring a Logistics Manager I for our GOCO (government owned contractor operated) facilities located in Radford, VA. The role will manage the Shipping & Receiving Department and report to the Sr. Manager of Logistics. The individual will act as an integral member of the Ordnance Systems Inc. Supply Chain team and will be accountable for meeting operational goals.
Location/Travel/Schedule:
+ This is a full time on-site position for the Radford, VA location.
+ This position will require up to 10% of travel.
Responsibilities:
+ Manage Shipping & Receiving Department for multiple warehouse locations
+ Support Supply Chain goals and objectives.
+ Ensure prompt deliveries to work stations and assigned drop zones.
+ Develop & maintain KPIs to monitor performance.
+ Ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR regulations.
+ Address and report missing shipments with appropriate carriers.
+ Support strategic freight program and vendor managed inventory.
+ Meet assigned operational budget.
+ Promote continuous improvement in Supply Chain processes.
+ Manage workload to support the needs of the plant.
+ Promote employee development.
+ Develop and maintain appropriate procedures to ensure FAR/DFARS compliance.
+ Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
-Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience
- 1 -3 years Supply Chain experience
-Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
-Proficient in use of MS Word and Excel
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
-Shipping & Receiving Experience
-Knowledge of MMAS and FAR/DFARS compliance
-Experience with LEAN Six Sigma
-Transportation experience working with carriers and reporting losses
-Experience working with a unionized workforce a plus.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $105835 - $179920
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
