Job Description
One of our clients is looking for Aviation Medical Examiner, this role is a licensed medical physicians (either MD or DO) that are designated by the FAA and therefore permitted to issue medical certificates to Air Traffic Controllers after performing a thorough physical examination and review of medical history. AME must be a graduate of a 4 1/2-day Basic AME Seminar. Must be engaged in the practice of clinical medicine at an established office address that is available to the general public. Maintain a properly equipped office (required equipment lists can be obtained from the local Regional Flight Surgeon’s office) to conduct FAA medical examinations. Must have training or expertise in aviation medicine, or those who have been previously designated (and maintained adequate performance as an AME) but moved to a different geographical location. Upon initial designation, AMEs are authorized to perform Class II and Class III physicals only.

Skills and Requirements
Medical Degree (MD or DO)
FAA AME certification and active moderate risk
Graduate of FAA’s 4.5-day Basic AME Seminar
Active clinical practice with a publicly accessible office equipped per FAA guidelines
3+ years of experience as an AME or military flight surgeon
Initially authorized for Class II and III physicals; Class I eligibility granted after 3 years of AME service
Ability to complete 2 cases per day
