Job Description

A large retail company is seeking a highly experienced Workday Solution Architect to lead the end‑to‑end technical architecture for its Workday Financial Management implementation, complementing an already‑deployed Workday HCM environment across a complex, multi‑business enterprise. This role requires deep, hands‑on expertise designing, configuring, integrating, and governing Workday Financials and HCM at scale—not conceptual oversight, but true architectural ownership. The architect will define a secure, scalable, compliant, and integrated Workday platform that aligns business requirements with system configuration, data, security, and controls, while challenging system integrator designs and ensuring long‑term maintainability across Finance and HCM domains.

Pay rate: $100-$110/hr

Skills and Requirements

10+ years delivering enterprise finance systems with deep hands‑on Workday Financials experience (GL, AP, AR, Assets, Procurement, Accounting Center/Prism, Reporting)

5+ years in a Workday Architect or senior technical leadership role owning cross‑domain Finance + HCM architecture

Strong expertise in Workday integrations: Orchestrate, Studio, Core Connectors, EIBs, REST/SOAP APIs

Proven experience designing and building integrations, APIs, and data solutions

Deep knowledge of Workday security, business process frameworks, reporting, and configuration governance

Experience supporting SOX, audit, data privacy, and internal control requirements

Demonstrated ability to lead and govern system integrators and third‑party vendors

Strong executive‑level communication and ability to influence architectural decisions

Hands‑on experience with data conversion, reconciliation, and financial data validation Workday certifications in Financials, Integrations, or Architecture

Experience with Accounting Center, Prism Analytics, and enterprise data platforms

Background designing microservices‑based integration patterns

Experience in large, global, multi‑entity enterprise environments

Familiarity with automation frameworks, monitoring, and error‑handling standards

Experience supporting analytics, BI tools, and enterprise reporting platforms

Prior involvement in multi‑phase ERP or Workday transformation programs
