Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator to serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Point of Contact (POC) for a critical infrastructure team supporting enterprise banking applications. This role combines deep technical expertise in Red Hat Linux, container technologies, and IBM storage systems with strong leadership and communication skills. The ideal candidate will ensure secure, stable, and compliant environments through proactive patching, storage management, and access control implementation.

This is a hybrid role onsite 3 days in either Dallas, TX or Pennington, NJ.

Key Responsibilities

Act as SME and primary POC for all Linux and storage-related initiatives within the team.

Administer and maintain Red Hat Linux environments across multiple banking applications.

Container Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain containerized workloads (Docker/Kubernetes) for application hosting.

IBM Storage Administration:

Provision and create storage volumes.

Manage storage performance, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.

Implement and enforce access controls (RBAC, SSO integration) to meet security and compliance standards.

Lead patching and vulnerability remediation efforts across GIS applications, ensuring timely updates and minimal downtime.

Collaborate with internal teams to maintain documentation, validate changes, and deliver white-glove support.

Drive process improvements for storage provisioning, patch orchestration, and container lifecycle management.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of hands-on experience with Red Hat Linux administration in enterprise environments.

Strong knowledge of container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).

Proven experience with IBM storage systems (provisioning, configuration, performance tuning).

Familiarity with SSO concepts and enterprise access control frameworks.

Expertise in patching strategies, vulnerability remediation, and compliance reporting.

Excellent communication skills and ability to serve as POC for cross-functional teams.

Banking or financial services experience preferred.
